RIALTO Untouchable (East West)

No press release with this, so I can’t tell you who Rialto are/is, although the sleeve of this three track single is littered with French quotes, if that means anything. (Something of a popular theme at the moment). "Untouchable" is rather good, imagine one of the less memorable Walker Brothers singles given a 90s shakedown, all big guitars, dramatic piano and a gorgeous riff played on what sounds like a synthesised accordion. Of the other two tracks, "Lipstick Letters" is the usual unremarkable b-side fodder, and "King Of Karaoke" a strange suburban waltz that suggests Blur. Still, on the evidence of the title track, you should be hearing more of Rialto, whoever they may be.
