In almost eight years of being the grateful recipient of material to review from Kev, this is only the second such article I've been sent on vinyl. As an added bonus, this 7" single contains music from a band I had recently seen live, supporting a rather off-colour Turin Brakes. "Untitled #1" contains the same bluff melodic sensibilities and droll Northern humour I Am Kloot demonstrated on stage, whilst flipside "The Mermen" is an aquamarine instrumental pleasantly reminiscent to these ears of Orange Juice's "Tenterhook". Good work, both, suggesting their imminent second album might be worth closer inspection.
